Human-centered design for your learners
At AMP Creative, our discovery process is jumpstarted with a discovery & learning strategy session. We use the framework of design thinking and the North Star of human-centered design (HCD) to guide our focus on your learners and create solutions that perfectly meet their needs.
We use this framework to harness the power of collaborative brainstorming and diverse perspectives, generating innovative solutions that truly serve their audiences.

Our design process
01 Build a diverse team
We work with you to assemble a team with a variety of perspectives on and experiences with the design problem. These are our codesigners.
No design background? No problem. We facilitate and guide this group through the design process, doing the heavy lifting along the way. Our codesigners give us the unique insight of the living, breathing challenges and opportunities. Together, we create real-life solutions for real-life problems.
02 Ground in empathy
When designing our solutions, we use techniques and devices such as fully developed learner personas, empathy maps, and learner scenarios to understand and integrate your learners into the design process.
We test assumptions and iterate on feedback. Our goal is to keep your learners at the center of the process.
03 Define the design problem
When we frame the design problem, we create a statement outlining the true challenge we are facing. This allows us to narrow our focus.
At this step of the process, we define a design philosophy and create learner stories.
04 Ideate for success
At this point, our codesigners are ready to approach challenges in new ways. We use activities designed to engage your diverse team to unleash sparks of creative inspiration.
These raw insights are focused into design concepts, wireframes, and prototypes ripe for prioritization and testing.
The most effective concepts rise to the surface and deliver you to a place of understanding, armed with a road map for action custom drawn for the needs of your organization.
05 Prototype
AMP takes the results of our ideation and synthesizes the insights to create rough prototypes and plans to present to our codesigners.
Prototyping allows us to test our hypothesis without spending time, money, and other resources creating the full product, experience, or final deliverable.
06 Test & iterate
Now it is time to share our prototype with real learners to get their feedback and incorporate their insights into the design.
We’ll work with you to define a success metric for moving into development, so that we can create a solution for your learners.
